With the Kludged 1N4148 diodes on the L293E
23 October 2013 - I can't believe that I have only just noticed that the diagram is wrong!
Nor can I find the original drawing to change it.
The Left eye should go to D5 not D4 and the 4k7 pullup on D5 should go to D7 instead.
Also the chip is really an L293E not an L298E!

2 x 12 way 0.1 headers

1 x 1N4001 diode
1 x 20 way DIL socket
1 x L298E 
3 x 4k7 resistors
4 x 0u1 ceramic disk capacitors 
	(using two 0u1 in series made the LDR readings better in the POT command) 
8 x 1N4148 diodes (for L293E protection, omit if using L293D)

Note the position of the LED and it's jumper have been swapped to make it easier to change the jumper when plugged into the motherboard with a peripheral card in the next slot.
